In 1977, David and Debbie Schweig purchased a 7,000 square foot furniture store, specializing in market samples and close-outs. With the Schweig’s background in retail and the name “Sunnyland” already on the building, a patio business was born. In 1991, they moved to a 25,000 square foot retail store. In 2003, they remodeled that showroom, adding 10,000 more square feet and a 30,000 square foot on-site warehouse, all dedicated to outdoor furniture and accessories. In the last few years, Sunnyland has created outdoor rooms, including a lake lodge setting, a home located on a golf course, a Tuscan villa, and night time entertaining.
