EggFest Frequently Asked Questions


When is EggFest?

The North Texas EggFest will take place Saturday, November 13th, with tasting times from 11 AM until 3 PM.


Is this a new EggFest event?

No.  For our 5th annual event, Sunnyland has rebranded and refreshed as the North Texas EggFest. Previous events were known as the Turkey Time EggFest , Dad's Gift Grillin' Eggfest, and


Is this event open to the public?

Yes.  All EggHeads from around the world are encouraged to attend this tasty event.


How much do tickets cost?

Adult ticket prices are $5 each with proceeds benefiting the Texas Restaurant Foundation. Kids 17 and under are FREE.  Your ticket gets you admission to the event and tastings from all of our teams – so come hungry! Parking is free.


Do I need to buy a ticket for my kid(s)?

Children under the age of 18 are free.


What is the Texas Restaurant Foundation?

We are partnering with the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association chapter of the Texas Restaurant Association to support their education efforts. The mission of the Texas Restaurant Foundation (TRF) is to provide educational opportunities to build and maintain a strong professional foodservice workforce in Texas. The Texas Restaurant Foundation is the go-to educational resource for the restaurant industry in the great state of Texas. They exist to serve the industry. They accomplish this by investing and providing educational resources and successful foodservice industry tools to our TRA members, high school and college students, faculty, restaurant owners and operators. 


Can I bring my pet?

Sorry, we do not allow pets at the Eggfest due to the amount of people and food that will be present.


Do I need to pay for food or buy more tickets so I can eat more?

No. Your tickets include unlimited sampling from all of the cook teams the duration of the event as well as a beverage.  


What if I want to buy a Big Green Egg?

Discounted demo eggs will go on sale in mid-September at  Do not wait until the day of the event to reserve your egg as they do sell-out before te event.  These eggs are available for pickup or local delivery starting on Monday, November 15th.  There will be sale pricing and special promotions during the EggFest as well on all Big Green Eggs, accessories, as well as outdoor furniture and accessories.


Will there be merchandise there to buy?

Select cook teams will have ingredients they are demoing available for purchase (i.e. sauces, rubs, meats).  In addition, there will be some great local vendors on site and everything you need for your Big Green Egg inside Sunnyland.  


Who can cook at this event?

Anyone is welcome to form a team.  From professional chefs and local restaurants to devoted EggHeads and first time cooks, we invite everyone who has a love of cooking to prepare their favorite foods on the Big Green Egg.


What do the winners receive?

We will award people’s choice awards to the top teams as well as prizes in a variety of categories.  In addition, all teams will receive gift bags and other treats as a thank you gift for participating.
