Does Sunnyland's Resin Wicker Patio Furniture Need Sealant?

Ever wonder if your resin wicker patio furniture from Sunnyland Outdoor Living needs an extra sealant or protection from the elements? 

The answer is simply no, resin itself is the protectant. 

Resin wicker is man-made synthetic wicker, but there are lots of different qualities being made and used for patio furniture.   Wicker is the weaving process (not the material) and can be made of natural or synthetic material. 

Here at Sunnyland, each collection of resin wicker products we offer are made using HDPE (high density polyethylene), the best quality material for synthetic wicker.  HDPE resin wicker is non-porous and dyed all the way through with built-in UV inhibitors to help keep it from breaking or blistering due to the Sun’s ultra violet light, keeping the color true for years to come. 

The only layer of protection you may wish to add is a furniture cover for the winter.   If you do not have a dry space to store your wicker furniture during the colder months, it is best to cover it and we offer a complete variety of vinyl furniture covers by Treasure Garden to keep your furniture protected and your cushions dry.

In short, there is no need to add wax or a resin epoxy to your woven patio furniture from Sunnyland (that would just be overkill).  The UV inhibitors are built into the resin for a beautiful product designed for years of care free enjoyment. 

To clean your resin wicker just use mild soap and water and note that all our woven products are wrapped around an aluminum frame (not steel, a lower cost material). 

My advice for extending the life of any outdoor furniture is to keep your cushions clean and free of dirt/moisture to avoid mold or mildew and to cover and protect your furniture during the winter months.
